School Calendar Key Dates:

For planning purposes, please note that our Summer Camp calendar is published in the spring and there may be a period of a few days following the last day of school in June during which the school is closed to facilitate camp set-up. Similarly, the school is closed for several days following the conclusion of Summer Camp to enable our classroom preparations for the first day of school in September.

Arrival & Departure Notes
Our morning classes start at 8:45am and conclude at 11:45am. The afternoon classes run from 12:30pm to 3:30pm. The children have a supervised lunch break from 11:45am to 12:30pm. Your promptness is appreciated as it minimizes disruption for the children in class. For all classes, there is a 10 minute grace period before class starts and after the class ends during which we care for children at no additional charge to accommodate safe arrivals and departures. The school is open from 7am to 6pm and offers Campus Club enrichment programming before and after our Montessori classes.

During the school year, we operate a Kiss & Ride program in the morning from 8:30 to 8:45 am. Children are escorted from your vehicle to their class by staff, senior students, and parent volunteers. During this period, we ask that you do not attempt to park in the spaces in front of the porch. There is parking on the road if you do need to park and enter the school during this time.

If you are arriving with your child at another time, please ensure your child has greeted their teacher with a handshake before you depart. The handshake ensures that the teacher knows of your child's arrival. This same handshake is also asked of your child at their departure.

For the safety of the children, we must know who is escorting your child on departure. We require advance notification if someone other that the child's parent/guardian will be picking up your child. If this individual has not been previously introduced to the staff, they will be required to show ID before your child will be released.

In the event of an emergency evacuation from the school, we have been authorized to seek shelter at the Brooklin United Church, 19 Cassels Rd. East (905) 655-4141. You will be notified immediately should an emergency evacuation be required. In the interest of your child's safety we will be conducting regular fire drills to ensure everyone can respond quickly and appropriately to a fire emergency. Please note that there is no smoking on the premises, including the playground and parking lot of Brooklin Mill Montessori School.
