Summer Camp 2010
We have planned an exciting Summer Camp program to provide your child with just the right mix of fun, friends, imaginative activities and light academics to ensure a memorable summer! Our Camp activities are designed around weekly themes, and place an emphasis on outdoor activities first thing in the morning and later in the afternoon. We have planned time at mid-day (when the sun is the highest) for work inside with the Montessori materials in air-conditioned comfort. Our Camp schedule is packed with cooperative games, arts & crafts, water play, music & movement, outdoor adventures, sports, daily reading circles, scavenger hunts, and lots of fun!

Summer Camp is being led by our school’s Resource Teacher, Mrs. Pamela Poole, and staffed by the teaching team of Brooklin Mill Montessori School. Camp operates over the 8 weeks from Monday, July 5th through Friday, August 27th inclusive. (Camp is closed Monday, August 2nd for the Civic Holiday). Camp is available for children ages 2 ½ to 8 years on a part-time or full-time basis. It is a great idea to use the Camp as an introduction to Brooklin Mill Montessori School or as a bridge between the school days of June and September. Our flexible schedules make this possible. You may enrol your child for only one or as many as all of the Camp theme weeks. Our only restriction is that a minimum of 3 half-days in any one week is required in order to adequately cover the subject-matter being studied. Our half-day Camp program is available in the mornings or afternoons, except on trip days. (Our field trips will extend over the noon-hour, so the half day option is not offered on these days.)

We will not be serving food at Camp, with the exception of some special theme days. Campers are asked to bring a bagged lunch and snacks, selecting nut-free foods that promote good nutrition and dental health. On nice days, we plan to picnic outdoors.

Summer Camp Fee Schedule:
Full-days (8:45 am – 3:30 pm) - $41 / day ; $180 / week
Half-days (8:45 am – 11:45am; OR 12:30 – 3:30 pm) - $26 / day ; $115 / week
Extra-supervision (7:30 – 8:30 am; OR 3:30 – 6 pm) - $6 / hour

Summer Camp fees are due in 2 instalments post-dated July 1 and August 1. Cheques returned NSF are subject to a $35 penalty fee. No refunds are provided for absences due to illness or other circumstances. We require 2 weeks notice or fees in lieu for Camp withdrawals or schedule changes. We levy a late pick-up fee of $10 for every 15-minute interval past 6 pm. Sorry, we are not able to offer sibling discounts during Summer Camp.
